
Matthew's expertise has touched countries around the world. As chief operating officer and co-founder of bioLytical Laboratories, he guided the company in securing Health Canada approval of INSTI the 60-second rapid HIV test that is now available worldwide in over 45 countries. In 2007, bioLytical successfully collaborated with UNICEF Canada, Virgin Mobile and Sir Richard Branson in the "Test Your Commitment Campaign." Matthew;s international experience also includes negotiations with the World Bank and the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland.
He graduated from the University of Texas El Paso in 1994, and holds a Bachelors of Interdisciplinary Studies degree in both business and education. His business career has bridged many sectors: biotechnology, management consulting, information technology, natural health products, business-to-business and business-to-consumer. For each of those sectors he has been the go-to advisor on media relations, capital fundraising, human resources, marketing, promotions and more. Matthew has volunteered for Muscular Dystrophy Canada, the British Columbia Burns Fund and sits as acting chairman of the INSTI Foundation.
